Tania was born in Bolzano on 15 May 1985. She has followed in her father’s and mother’s footsteps (Giorgio Cagnotto is an amazing diver who won two silver medals at the Olympic games and Carmen Casteiner is an 8-time springboard champion) and won 46 Italian Championships, 29 European Championships (20 gold medals) and 10 World Championships (one gold medal), in addition to the silver medal won in 2016 (Rio) in the synchronised diving competition. She retired after the Olympics.
